Former Michigan commit Carrick will be part-time student
BY MATT SLOVIN
Former Michigan hockey commit Connor Carrick will take classes in Ann Arbor this fall, despite his decision to play in the Ontario Hockey League instead.
“(Carrick) has scheduled enough classes to be considered a half-time student,” the Office of the Registrar told the Daily on Monday.
Carrick, who is enrolled in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts, signed with the OHL’s Plymouth Whalers on June 29. The Whalers’ home, Compuware Sports Arena, is about 14 miles from the Michigan campus.
In June, Carrick was selected in the fifth round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals.
