Michigan hockey schedule released
BY MATT SLOVIN
An outdoor edition of the Great Lakes Invitational and a rematch with Cornell at Madison Square Garden highlight the Michigan hockey team's 2012-13 schedule.
Michigan State, Michigan Tech and Western Michigan will join the Wolverines in convening on Detroit's Comerica Park, home of the Tigers, for the tournament at the end of December.
Earlier, in November, Michigan will try and avenge its heartbreaking overtime loss to Cornell when the two team's meet at "The World's Most Famous Arena" in New York City.
Other notes of interest include the lack of home games during the season's second half. The Wolverines will only play six regular-season games at Yost Ice Arena once the calendar turns to 2013. Also, Michigan will only play outside of the state a total of five times all season.
Also, if the team qualifies for the NCAA Tournament as it has for the past 22 seasons, the Wolverines would play their regional in Grand Rapids as the host team.
This year's Frozen Four will be held in Pittsburgh.
