Former Wolverine Henne is alone in Miami

BY MARK BURNS

Did you see the Miami vs. New England football game Sunday?

I did, and I felt bad for former Wolverine quarterback Chad Henne. No, I felt terrible for the man.

Henne played a pretty decent game, completing 19 of 34 passes for 219 yards. On the Dolphins' final drive of the game, down by seven, Henne looked to Miami wide receiver, Ted Ginn, Jr.

Ginn was doing a crossing pattern about 20 yards deep and Henne delivered a bullet that was right on the hands of the former Ohio State stand out. But the ex-Buckeye failed to bring in the ball. Upon looking at the play multiple teams, it looked like he was heading down-field instead of focusing on catching the ball. The Dolphins lost 27-17.

Over the past couple of weeks, Miami running backs and wide receivers have dropped numerous balls. Against the Patriots, they dropped five.

And when your best wide receivers are Ginn, some guy named Greg Camarillo and Davone Bess (who???), well, Miami and Henne are in for a long rest of the season. Bess and Camarillo lead the team in receptions and are OK players, but the Dolphins need a gamer.

If Miami expects to win anytime soon, it'll need to pickup a marquee wide-out or someone who can at least catch the ball.

But for now, you just have to feel sorry for Henne, who wishes he had someone like Mario Manningham or Braylon Edwards to throw the pigskin to instead of the guys he has now.
