I find it disgusting that an article on stem cell research (a research that benefits all regardless of religion or ethnicity) incites such hateful dialogue. The results of Dr. Reubinoff’s work will not be denied to those whose hatred of him based on his nationality is clearly articulated in their comments. Unlike Dr. Reubinoff, your hatred is not contributing to our world. Differences are not resolved by blindly biased emotions. I am disheartened that my alma mater has become a campus smeared with intolerance. The University of Michigan is an institution of education. Use your time there to open your minds and learn not only the actual history of the Mid-East region but also the prospective of your “enemies” so that you, like Dr. Reubinoff, can contribute to our society instead of tearing it apart.

International Writers and Scholars Endorse Academic Boycott of Israel
January 27, 2009

http://www.progressive.org/mag/wx012709.html

F--- EU and F---Israel!!!

Boycott the Nazi butchers.

Wow, Blaine Coleman is losing it even more. He is realizing that everything he does is for nothing. He is being overwhelmed and can't rebut the facts that are presented to him. He is completely driven by his hatred.

Yeah, Blaine has lost his control. Realizing that the EU, and Human Rights Watch, and independent European news organizations like Der Spiegel and Corriere della Sera have all blamed the war and the loss of so many civilians on Hamas has clearly gotten to him.

So sad. He puts all his support in these terrorists, only to realize that they ARE in fact terrorists.

EU Blames Hamas for War, destruction

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7851545.stm

"A senior European Union official touring war-torn Gaza has blamed the ruling militant movement Hamas for the humanitarian crisis there."

"I intentionally say this here - Hamas is a terrorist movement and it has to be denounced as such."

And these are who Blaine supports - along with his allies, Osama and David Duke.

Letter:

"Israeli aggression, not its peril, is issue"

ANN ARBOR NEWS

http://www.mlive.com/opinion/ann-arbor/index.ssf/2009/01/letter_israeli_...

The massacre in Gaza should firmly put an end to the myth that Israel is a helpless nation desperately fighting to survive among hostile neighbors. Rather, the scale of the onslaught against the Palestinians and their utter inability to defend themselves is proof that Hamas has never been a real threat to the existence of Israel.

Furthermore, the lack of any response, military or political, from any surrounding Arab country, demonstrates that Israel remains a regional superpower with nothing to fear except hollow threats from impotent leaders.

However, the intensity of the attacks on Gaza, and previously in Lebanon, does reveal a cruel and sadistic side to Israel and questions the wisdom of permitting it to retain a powerful military.

It seems clear that the most pressing issue for the international community to contend with is how to defend and protect the Palestinians in Gaza against future Israeli violence. The second prudent step would be containing Israel's military capability by restricting weapon sales to provide a more equitable balance of power in the region.

Finally, intense action to eliminate Israel's nuclear weaponry is critical to maintaining stability in the Middle East. With a large stockpile of nuclear weapons and an apparent willingness to unleash appalling violence on its neighbors, Israel remains the most serious threat to peace in the region.

No, the pattern is Muslim terrorist trying to wipe out the worlds Jews.

They claim to be fighting 'zionists'. But they have committed terror attacks against Jews around the world, not Israelis.

For example, muslim terrorist attacked the main synagogue in Rome, murdering a little girl. Not a zionist, not an Israeli. Murdered for by muslim terrorists for being Jewish.

Or when muslim terrorists attacked a synagogue in Istanbul, murdering over 20. Murdered not for being Zionists, or Israeli, but only for being Jews.

The list goes on.

You are forgetting the recent Mumbai attacks where Chabad houses were specifically targeted. Where only Jews were raped and tortured. Are you going to excuse that too Blaine? I seriously want to know more about you Blaine. You are intriguing. What led you to develop such a hatred for Jews? Was it that Jewish girl in high school that wouldn't go to prom with you? You're in your 50's and yet you religiously attend COLLEGE Student government meetings to yell at 18 year olds. Do you have anything better to do?

Yes, he does, but that only take about 2 minutes a day, not including clean up time.

To the Commenter who asks for a "pattern":

Yes, the pattern is Zionist assassins trying to wipe out 1.6 billions Muslims, by convincing you that Muslims are your enemy.

* They tell you the "Sunni Triangle" is your enemy.

* Then they tell you the "Shiite Crescent" is the worst.

Don't go along with their sick hatred against Muslims.

Yeah, that's right, 13 million Jews (myself included) are going to wipe out 1.6 BILLION Muslims.

That 123 Muslims for every Jew.

I guess I better stock up on my 7.62 x 39's cause I'm down to my last couple hundred rounds. And as for those of you who are going to go all ape shite about a "threat to kill Muslims", that last statement is sarcastic. I would never use such a low caliber.

listen, the guy was giving a lecture on stem cells...jews and arabs...chill out for one day.

lol, yeah no kidding. Take a day off.

Wish we could all chill out, but at the slightest mention of Jew or Israel in any article, Blaine Coleman goes on an anti-Semitic tirade. These things can't go unchecked.

Careful,

It's not Arabs and Jews, it's Muslims and Jews.

And Muslims and Christians.
And Muslims and Hindus.
And Muslims and Black slightly different Muslims.
And Sunni Muslims and Shia Muslims.
And Sunni Muslims and Wahhabi Muslims.
And Shia Muslims and Wahhbai Muslims.

Anyone see a pattern here?

>>But you think you can paint Palestine as the rich aggressor?

As stated by all observers, including Egypt, yes. Absolutely - they started the war. They were the agressor.

Hamas started the war - as declared by the EU Aid Commissioner. This was after committing war crimes by firing rockets at Israeli civilians for years. And during the war, they used their own civilians as human shields, hoping to turn them into martyrs - as reported by multiple sources.

And now, Hamas is trying to restart the war. Why is that, Blaine - if they didn't like the war and the costs, why are they so intent on starting it up again?

And Blaine supports the aggressor - along with Osama bin Laden and David Duke. Islamofascist terrorist, White Supremacist, and Blaine - all working together.

Incredible.

* Who's starving and occupied? Palestine.
* Who gets $300 billion from the U.S., to keep bombing Palestine? Israel.

But you think you can paint Palestine as the rich aggressor?
You think you can paint Israel as some kind of impoverished helpless victim? See who believes you.

The boycott of Israel is picking up steam:

________________________________________________

"For first time, U.S. professors call for academic and cultural boycott of Israel" --in today's Ha'aretz, at:

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1059775.html

________________________________________________

The boycott will succeed, and Apartheid Israel will be abolished.

Hey Blaine,

If they are starving, how come all the photo's I see are of fat and well nourished "mothers" and "grandmothers" crying crocodile tears for their dead terrorists relatives.

http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/05a8gD282b09e/610x.jpg

Do a google search, they're all fat living off the charity of the world.

Lying, Jew-hating loser.

Also, she is sporting that very fancy watch. Yeah they are all so poor there.
www.israellycool.com

I fail to see how mentioning the professor is Israeli is at all relevant.

Duh. The article is about the speaker, so his background and credentials are relevant. He didn't just fall from the sky onto campus. I learned to include "who what where when and why" when working on my Junior High school paper.

"Who" can mean quite a bit of things. And, in terms of your junior high school writing abilities, merely stating the name of the professor is more than sufficient. If you were to look at other articles, like the "U' alum set to head Michigan GOP" article, there is no mention of the nationality or ethnicity of the person they're talking about.

And while I'm not sure such things are relevant for politics, they are far more relevant than stating the nationality or ethnicity in an article about a stem cell researcher.

I'm not saying it was irrelevant to talk about the university he works for; why does the headline have to include, "Israeli"? Really, was that the focus of his talk? His citizenship?

Duh, how is his nation of origin related to his credentials? Are you saying Israeli credentials are fundamentally different from say, French credentials? Are stem cells different in Europe?

It isn't, but it's a way to draw attention to the article 'cause anything in the Daily that has "Jew" or "Israel" attached to it is a lightning rod for all the nutjob Jew haters.

>>Look at almost 1,400 dead Gazans, and then tell me that boycott of Israel is not warranted.

The Gazans started the war, as stated by the UN. Hamas committed war crimes by firing rockets at Israeli civilians, as stated by the EU. Hamas committed war crimes by hiding among their own civilians, as stated by the UN. And then, after a shaky cease fire had been established, Hamas violated the cease fire, hoping to restart the war.

All ugly facts, but Blaine will just avoid acknowledging them. Then again, his two most prominent allies in his campaign are Osama bin Laden and US Klansman and White Supremacist David Duke.

Whats that old line about the company you keep Blaine? think about it.

While I don't agree completely with the Nazi analogy, I also don't believe that Israel is the only place that has the capacity to make cell phone chips. In fact, I bet we could get them cheaper if we outsourced the jobs to somewhere else, e.g., China. Why, I bet those Israelis companies in fact have some sort of exclusive, no-bid deals with the U.S., and I wouldn't mind boycotting Israel to get cheaper cell phones. It's a win-win situation.

As for 'new' technology, Israeli spies probably stole that from us anyway.

The technology for the cell phone was invented in Israel, along with a host of other medical breakthroughs including better ways to administer insulin and host of other life saving medical inventions. But Jews steal because they could never be that successful on their own, right?

Germany had a lot of technology too, under Hitler. But Nazi states deserve to be boycotted.

Look at almost 1,400 dead Gazans, and then tell me that boycott of Israel is not warranted.

Well, the Nazi analogy does apply - to the Palestinians, of course. The palestinian arabs were allies of the Nazis, and their leader spent the war in Berlin as Hitler's guest. He helped raise a battalion of Bosnian muslims, which committed war crimes in the Balkans. And he publicly stated his hope that Hitler would get to Palestine to do to the Jews there what he was doing to the Jews in Europe.

Oh, and he was related to Yassir Arafat!

If Gaza doesn't like the losses they suffered, they shouldn't have started the war - which Hamas did, as stated by all observers. And they shouldn't have used civilians as human shields as they did, as reported by multiple independent reporters.

And they also shouldn't have broken the ceasefire, as they did.

They seem to like war and death.

Israel is on the cutting edge of research, while savages like Blaine Coleman call for a boycott. Do you really want to end stem cell research in your boycott of Israel Blaine? I bet you still use your cell phone. The chips in that came from Israel too. You can't go a single day without using Israeli products.
