Alcohol kills when kids aren't willing to go to the hospital because they're afraid of MIPs. Relaxed drinking laws would make it much easier for kids to learn how to drink responsibly and know their limits without being excessively punished for something they're going to do either way.

I had a daughter nearly DIE because she was afraid of going to the hospital. YOU SHOULD NEVER, IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BE AFRAID OF GOING TO THE HOSPITAL. Unfortunately, the AAPD makes it so.

The fact that the AAPD gives out citations to kids who go to the hospital for alcohol poisoning disgusts me. It infuriates me. It makes me want to make a change.

Save kids' lives. Vote Plourde '08.

The fact that the fine for first time offenders is upwards of $500 is not only APPALLING, but EXPLOITATIVE of minors.

The city's financial troubles shouldn't be taken out on the students.

I fully support Mr. Plourde's initiative. The USA is one of the few industrialized countries with a minimum drinking age of 21, yet it leads the world in alcohol-related incidents to minors. The drinking age of 21 is an experiment gone wrong; it's not too late to reverse our fault, and lawmakers are beginning to realize this.

Alcohol should not be a taboo for college students. Only by making moderate drinking a socially accepted norm can we turn students into safe drinkers.

Moreover, considering the sky-high liquor tax, the city really won't lose out on all that much revenue as a larger demographic of students will be purchasing booze.

Ann Arbor has the opportunity to catalyze country-wide change here. Let's not mess this up. Vote Plourde '08.

Fine them all! If I was a cop, on gameday Saturday's, I would be waltzing around giving MIP's like nobody's business! I think that if a borderline-excessive amount of MIP's were issued, then maybe the LAW that states it is illegal to drink until you are over the age of 21 will sink in to these stupid, ignorant, underage miscreants!

Alcohol kills -
Weed does not -
Even the Ann Arbor councilmen know that!
