This appears to be a misstatement of fact. Palin (and others) are simply dissing Barry Obama's claim of being ready for the presidency by dint of his organizing tenants to form a group.
Calling anyone who does work in the community a "community organizer" certainly makes it look like an interesting smear by the Right, but in reality, what's happening here is an attempt to re-define a word after it's used.
Someone who delivers hot food to shut-ins might be a community organizer as well, but she's not doing it necessarily _because_ of being a community organizer. More likely, she's doing it because she's doing good work.
By itself, "community organizer" is a meaningless title with completely undefinable objectives. How well did Barry do as a C.O.? Was he simply doing the work of his political betters?
Calling someone who helps the homeless a "community organizer" does not make him one. Putting lipstick on a pig still makes it a pig, I believe Barry said recently.
This professor appears to be using University resources and links to his state-salary-supported lectures and books to influence an election. This may be a violation of the Michigan Campaign Finance Act, Section 57.
You left out the part where the community organizer has ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE TO BE PRESIDENT! Obama has no foreign policy experience and thus must surround himself by radical foreign policy advisors like Zbignew Brezezinksi, who want Israel wiped off the map. HOPE! CHANGE! SOCIALISM!
