Well this may be the worst Michigan team for several decades - you'd have to go back to Bump Elliot to see worse.
Neither QB has any running talent. Threet has potential, his throws seemed strong. Why Sheridan is even allowed to dress is a mystery.
We have one wideout capable of eventually successfully running a triple option offense, Hemingway.
Our offense has little to no ability to move the ball, of all the scores only the FG was legit. And even that came off of a personal foul call against the Utes. Once Utah stopped handing us points on a silver platter our offense did nothing.
Around 5PM on Sat I stopped worrying about OSU, we will lose that game (Pryor's gonna enjoy this one). Unfortunately, Northwestern (Bacher is a strong QB, with speed and competitive drive) will beat us. Illinois will absolutely smoke us (both literally and figuratively and then that evening in their bongs). Wissy will run all over us, and we have to play Penn State in Happy Valley: that will be a LONG game my fellow maize and blue.
At this point, I'm concerned about just beating Miami-Ohio and Toledo.
Will we get better? Probably in 2-3 years (more like 3), until then fasten your seat belts guys.
Although I was one to predict Michigan to win this game. Michigan still has a cance to prove themselves and improve. Michigan who lost the opener last year to App. St., went and lost the next game against Oregon in an embarassing loss. Then a Michigan team barely won a 2002 matchup with Utah. Utah went on that year to a 5-7 regular season record as Michigan went on to a 9-3 season. What does this year's game tell you about how Michigan will play the rest of the season...absolutely nothing. First game jitters, new offense, new scheme...call it what you will. Michigan has a chance to build on this close loss to a good Utah team, that they almost came back and won, to fine tune their team to better their production. Call me crazy but there is hope in this Michigan team this year. We showed promise as the 4th quarter came around. What a learning experience this game is. After all we can only get better.
