Well if that is a hometown prediction if I have ever seen one. Michigan will eventually be fine, if you impatient nitwits can give them a chance and don't run Rodriguez out of town (which you likely will sooner rather than later.) But we are talking about one game here not the future. This is not the mighty Michigan of old who could frighten off an opponent with their mighty 1940s style helmet. In fact, this hasn't been the mighty Michigan team of old in decades.
How in the hell can special teams be a push with an All American Kicker/Punter for Utah and fine return specialists that they have when Michigan has a bunch of Freshman who will be returning kicks. McGuffie can't flip over people's heads all the way down the field.
Also how can scUM rushing offense have advantage when hardly anyone on the O-Line has ever played a college game? Not to mention, inexperienced QBs running a zone read option.
Brian Johnson is a fifth year senior and proven starter in college football with plenty of talent around him on both sides of the ball.
Utah will load up 8 in the box on defense to stop the run and let their terrific corners handle business with fairly inexperienced Michigan receivers.
Like I said, eventually Michigan will be fine, but tomorrow, look for a lot of fumbles and a couple of picks for an ugly Michigan debut.
Utah wins 34-13.

I give Utah the edge. Any team that hopes that incoming and unproven freshman are going to be the difference maker isn't aimed for success. Utah's defense is known to blitz and cause confusion. A very inexperienced line and zero experience quarterback don't really mix well with a defense known to stir awkward zones and even more blitzing. Utah wins. Michigan fans will prolly boo thier own team again... shame on you.

I do believe Michigan's unproven, underclassmen will make a name for themselves Saturday. With any sport, when there is a possibility to land the starting role based on performance, athletes play their best.

If Michigan concentrated on solely running the ball, I think they'd beat down the Utah defense and crush them. I know the spread offense is in play, but solely running the ball could be key.

My prediction Michigan 24 Utah 10
