Woodson's emotions not a surprise
BY CHANTEL JENNINGS
Today, the Detroit News published an article entitled "Heisman winner Charles Woodson 'not excited' about Wolverines."
Well, no shit.
The Michigan football team is 5-4 and it has lost four straight in the Big Ten. We haven't been this bad in...well, never mind, we won't venture down that path. Another blog for another day.
But of course Woodson is hurting for the Wolverines. The only person that was excited to see "his" team lose this weekend was Brett Favre, and that's only because he was the driving force behind the Vikings' 38-26 victory over the Packers.
I'm here on campus and I constantly hear the banter about the team and how they're not living up to expectations. I'm in the stands and have to listen to the obnoxious boys behind me screaming obscenities when a pass goes amiss or when a pass doesn't reach someone's hands perfectly. But really, could you do any better?
"I'm not excited about it," Woodson told the Detroit News. "I'm not excited about losing."
God forbid the day come when someone is earnestly excited about losing football. There are very few instances in life when I think losing is something to be excited about (e.g. hot dog eating contest).
Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing the frat boys that sit behind me line up against some All-Americans and try not to take off for the sideline and vomit. I might enjoy watching them lose.
