The Michigan women's soccer team improved enough offensively last weekend to take home two Big Ten wins against Wisconsin and Minnesota. Junior Kate Morgan scored once in both contests, and now leads the team with three goals on the season. Sophomore Katie Kramer, who got her first career start against the Badgers, scored her first career goal just 57 seconds into the match.

"We got ourselves back in the running with two wins," Michigan coach Debbie Rademacher said. "We were 0-1-1 (in the Big Ten) and now everybody (in the conference) has lost a game."
After a slow start to the season, the Wolverines - who have had to incorporate several new faces into the starting lineup - find themselves in fourth place in the Big Ten after working to come together as a unit.
"We always word hard, but now we're making sure we take care of business," Rademacher said.
Michigan freshman goalkeeper Megan Tuura has been named one of the Big Ten co-Defensive Players of the Week. She has a 0.52 goals against average this season and has had just four goals scored on her in almost 700 minutes in net.
"For a freshman she is really composed. She communicates and organizes well and comes up big when we need her to," Rademacher said.
Last Friday, Tuura stopped four shots to hold Wisconsin scoreless and record her second shutout of the season.
Tuura will need to be at her best to beat Ohio State this weekend in Columbus. The Buckeyes knocked Michigan out of the first round of the Big Ten Tournament last season. The game went to double overtime and was decided on penalty kicks, resulting in a bittersweet loss for the Wolverines. The Buckeyes went on to win the Big Ten title.
"We're going to do a lot of things (in practice) that involve physical battles, because that's the strength of Ohio State," Rademacher said. "We're going to work a lot on set pieces like corner kicks. Ohio State is good at that."
