Everyone loves remixing - take a song everyone likes, put it to an electronic beat and it's a new and delicious club hit. In 2002 Verve Records caught on and came out with Verve Remixed, and since it was such a success, the second installment (Verve Remixed 2) is now out and ready to be heard by electronica and jazz fans alike.

The 14 tracks showcase jazz greats like Dizzy Gillespie, Sara Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone, but as you've never heard them before. A different DJ remixes each song, so there are many different electronic styles to enjoy.

The majority of the songs are upbeat, like Dizzy Gillespie's Manteca, which sets Dizzy's 1961 live Carnegie Hall performance to some funky beats and "Soul Sauce," a mambo/lounge swirl. Musicals fans, there's a sweet version of Whatever Lola Wants sung by Sara Vaughn with a electric guitar tango and even an electric accordion.

So, if you like jazz, electronica, or both, Verve Remixed 2 is a musical treat that should make its way into your CD collection.
