'U' alum Page named Google's next CEO
BY DYLAN CINTI
Google co-founder and University alum Larry Page will take over as CEO of the company, according to the AP.
The 37-year-old will assume the post beginning in April, replacing current CEO Eric Schmidt, according to the article.
Page graduated with honors from the College of Engineering in 1995, according to a Jan. 19, 2009 Michigan Daily article.
He subsequently attended Stanford University where, in 1998, he and fellow student Sergey Brin launched Google, the Daily article reported.
Page’s new position will put him at the helm of a company whose market value is estimated at more than $200 billion, the AP reported.
