Two home invasions reported in student neighborhoods this weekend
BY MATT AARONSON
Two separate crime alerts detailing home invasions hit the inboxes of students and faculty this weekend.
In the first incident, a shotgun-wielding man went into a student's apartment on Arbor St. near Packard St. and State St. He left on foot with a Blackberry device and some cash on Friday morning around 5:20 a.m. No one was injured. The Department of Public Safety crime alert describes the suspect as a "Black male, 6 feet 2 inches, thin build, wearing a black hoodie, black ski mask and black sweatpants."

Another student told the Ann Arbor Police that she awoke in her house on East University Ave. near Hill St. and Oakland St. early Saturday morning "to find an unknown man standing near her bed." She was able to exit through a window and call police. The DPS crime report describes the suspect as "Black male, 25 years old, 5'8" with a short afro and beard, wearing a Cincinnati baseball cap, black windbreaker jacket and jeans."
