Rodriguez: Forcier may not play in Saturday's Spring Game due to injury

BY RYAN KARTJE

In an interview with 1050-WTKA on Thursday afternoon, Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez said that sophomore quarterback Tate Forcier may sit out Saturday's Spring Game due to a "minor foot sprain."

"There’s probably a lot more drama out there than there really is," Rodriguez said. "I don’t know if he’s going to be able to go and take any reps during the spring game or not but he’s had a pretty solid spring."

The Daily first reported that Forcier was seen walking on campus Wednesday with a boot, aided by crutches. The Detroit News then confirmed that Forcier had sprained his ankle late in practice Tuesday. Forcier was limited in Thursday's practice.

If he isn't able to go for the Spring Game on Saturday, fellow sophomore quarterback Denard Robinson and early-enrollee Devin Gardner are expected to take the majority of the reps.
