OMG on TV — 3/27/10

BY BRIGID KILCOIN

"Food Tech: Pizza" on History

!!!

"Bullrun" on Speed

I selected this show not to discuss "Bullrun," because let's face it: no one is going to read this and watch "Bullrun." Let's face it: no one reads this anyway! Am I right?!?! No, I selected this show because I am confused about what the "Speed" network actually is. At first I thought it was just another fringe channel that like four people in upstate New York get. But I attempted to find the "Bullrun" website (That's journalism! Always with the research!) and it took me to Spike TV's homepage.

I do not get it! What is the connection between Spike TV and the "Speed" Channel (other than the underlying current of awful that both share?) Is the "Speed" channel (I am forced to put it in quotes now since I no longer know if it is a real thing) simply an alias for Spike TV, an attempt to return to their glory days of substantive, thoughtful programming without facing criticism from rabid "Manswers" fans? If so, they probably need to start picking better shows than "Bullrun!"

"Fatal Attractions: Big Cats" on Animal Planet

Just another three-part Animal Planet miniseries about exotic animals that kill their owners. You know, the usual!

"Project Runway: Hey, That's My Fabric"

Nobody writes a killer episode title like whoever writes the episode titles for "Project Runway!" My top five "Project Runway" episode titles (in no particular order; I don't like making decisions!)

1. "Design Your Heart Out"
2. "We Expect Fashion"
3. "Trendsetter"
4. "Lights, Camera, Sew"
5. "Fashion Giant"

I like #1-#4 because they are not cliched or generic at all! (I like #5 because the concept of a "Fashion Giant" intrigues me.)
