OMG on TV — 1/15/10

BY BRIGID KILCOIN

"Monsterquest: Monster Sharks" on History

Delivers what it promises. I wonder if Discovery and Animal Planet are getting nervous that another network will assume their "boring shows about animals" niche.

"For the Love of Ray J" on VH1

Last season, the nation watched in breathless anticipation as Ray J (better known as Brandy's brother, if you know who Brandy is) searched far and wide for love before meeting perfection in the flesh: a woman named Cocktail. Sadly, the love was not to be. But don't think Ray J will let love pass him by without a fight! He's back in the saddle, ready to wine and dine fourteen interchangable girls and go on dozens of "fun," "quirky" dates with a camera crew. In this week's episode, Ray J explores the complexities of the double date.

"The Jay Leno Show" on NBC

Let me make a couple predictions about Friday's show without having watched it yet: Jay Leno will make some bewilderingly unfunny jokes as guest Julianne Moore laughes along politely. Jay Leno will interrupt Julianne Moore to tell a story about his own life that is tangentially related at best (Two possible sources of material? His antique car collection and his friendship with Jerry Seinfeld.) Jay Leno will engage in some horribly awkward conversational transitions he works every single fact on his notecard about Julianne Moore into the interview.

"Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal" on A&E

If you watched Jay Leno's Friday show, you'll know that I could be prominently featured on this one.
