New CFO appointment officially starts duties, approved by Regents

Former interim Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Timothy Slottow, was officially appointed to the position on May 22, by University President Mary Sue Coleman.

According to a written statement, the appointment would last over a three year period starting June 1, pending approval by the Board of Regents. Slottow has been serving the University as interim chief financial officer since May 1, 2002.

Slottow said he is very excited about the appointment.

"It's an honor to be able to serve the University. It's an amazing institution I'm excited to ensure that it continues to be one of the best public universities in the country," Slottow said.

Before his appointment as interim, Slottow served as associate vice president for finance with oversight responsibility, financial statements, payroll and University debt.

He will continue to maintain these responsibilities in his new position, with added duties for facilities, operations and human resources, administrative systems and investments.

to the executive officer team," Coleman said in a written statement. "I have been very impressed with his ability to keep major University projects moving forward in a very positive direction while serving as interim chief financial officer, and he has demonstrated great skill and depth in comprehensive financial oversight of the institution," she added.
