MSA Musings: MSA Executive Board members elected
BY ELYANA TWIGGS
Last night in the Michigan Chambers, the Michigan Student Assembly elected four new MSA representatives to executive positions to oversee MSA governing and business.
Both MSA President Chris Armstrong and MSA Vice President Jason Raymond recommended MSA representatives who they wrote, “demonstrate the impeccable strength of the assembly,” in an e-mail sent to the representatives before the meeting on Tuesday night.
Business School junior Alex Serwer — past chair of MSA’s Campus Improvement Committee — was elected to be MSA chief of staff.
Engineering junior Ambreen Sayed was elected to the position of MSA treasurer, as recommended by Raymond. Sayed was chief of staff for the past MSA administration.
LSA junior Gabe Suprise, past vice chair of MSA’s Rules and Elections Committee, was elected as the Student Governing Council. Four MSA representatives weren’t in support of his elected position.
LSA junior Ghida Dagher was elected chief programming officer, a position recently added with the adoption of the Students 4 Progressive Governance new student constitution. She was the previous chair of MSA’s Communications Committee.
