Michigan women's basketball scheduled to meet Northwestern in fourth game
BY ZAK PYZIK
The Big Ten tournament gave the Michigan women's basketball team a chance to avenge the debt it had with Northwestern. The Wildcats defeated the Wolverines in the first two, regular-season matchups of the season.
On Dec. 28 Michigan fell short 63-59 to record it's first conference loss. Then again the Wolverines were victims of defeat on Feb. 4. The Wildcats again beat Michigan to end the Wolverines three-game winning streak.
And once more, Michigan finds itself on a streak of three wins. Once more, the Wolverines will take on the Wildcats, who will come into Crisler Arena on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
Michigan and Northwestern also met a third time this season. In the Big Ten tournament. The Wolverines dominated that contest in the first round of the tournament on March 4, and advanced to play Michigan State with a 67-54 victory.
And thus Michigan sits at 1-2 against the Wildcats this season. Coach Kevin Borseth will hope to get by Northwestern just once more to take the Wolverines further in the WNIT than he did his first year at the helm.
