Police in the Grand Rapids suburb of Wyoming arrested the 22-year-old athlete early Wednesday while he was driving.
Jail records show he was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.
Grady is to be arraigned July 9 in Wyoming District Court.
He's a graduate of East Grand Rapids High School, where he set state prep scoring and rushing records.
Grady missed all of the 2007 season due to a knee injury sustained during spring drills.
Head coach Rich Rodriguez said in a statement the matter will be handled internally after he meets with Grady and reviews the details.
