Manny Harris gets some extra rest this week

BY NICOLE AUERBACH

Michigan basketball coach John Beilein didn’t have junior guard Manny Harris practice on Wednesday, so that he could have two consecutive days off this week. The cause for concern? Harris’ hamstring, which has been a nagging problem this season. According to Beilein, Harris practiced just fine throughout a long practice on Tuesday.

“Not going to push it right now,” Beilein said Wednesday. “Since probably Michigan (Madness on Oct. 16), he has not had enough reps to really be consistent because of this nagging injury.”

Two weeks ago, Harris explained how the injury has affected his play.

"It's just still bending-wise and stuff like that. I can still run on it. I can do things like that, but it's still irritating,” Harris said on Dec. 1. “It forces my other leg to do so much. Like, when I shoot, I kick it out and turn and twist.”
