'M' women's basketball takes on Minnesota

Last time the Michigan women’s basketball team laced up against Minnesota was Feb. 15, last year. It lost 60-59 at Crisler Arena.
That gave the Wolverines their 11th Big Ten lost at the time and the Golden Gophers their seventh straight win against Michigan.
In fact, the Wolverines (5-7 Big Ten, 13-9 overall) have not been victorious in this matchup since Feb. 29, 2004. Michigan won 57-47.
Minnesota is 0-5 on the road. And though the Wolverines lost their last game 64-60 in Evanston, Ill. to Northwestern, they have posted a 3-1 record in their last four games.
With its last loss being such a close battle, expect a disciplined Michigan squad this afternoon. The Wolverines have shot better than 40 percent in each of their last four games.
