Lucious dismissed from Michigan State program

As the Michigan men's basketball team prepares to end a six-game losing streak against Michigan State on Thursday, the Spartans have other issues.
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo announced Tuesday night that junior guard Korie Lucious has been dismissed from the team's basketball program.
"Korie Lucious displayed conduct detrimental to the program," Izzo said. "My focus is on this team for the remainder of the season."
Averaging seven points a game, Lucious has seen quality time on the hardwood for the Spartans, often coming in the game for a lineup that has been very injury prone this season.
Nothing has been released as to why Lucious was kicked off the team for the remainder of the 2010-11 season.
In a statement released by the athletic department, Lucious said, "I didn’t live up to the standards of the program. Unfortunately, I let my teammates, my coaches, and myself down, and wish them the best for the rest of the season."
It is noted that Izzo's decision to dismiss Lucious from the program is for this season, meaning it may or may not prohibit Lucious from playing next season.
Lucious was suspended earlier in the season for reckless driving.
