'Lost' episode blogs: 'Recon'

Spoiler Warning. There are spoilers. You've been warned. Let's begin.
My catch phrase with this season of 'Lost' thusfar has really been "what happened?" And this is another episode to make me ask just that.
First the alternate. So Sawyer is a cop now, and he's partnered with Miles once again, and he's still hunting Anthony Cooper along somewhat similar lines. So basically, the island barely affected his destiny at all. Not really captivating to see everything go down exactly the same way as we've already seen.
Then, the reality. The deal Sawyer made with Widmore, then went back on, was predictable, as was the sole survivor act and pretty much everything else that happened in this entire episode. The conversation Locke had with Kate was somewhat interesting, and I'm sure plenty of theories about the man in black being Aaron are going to surface all over the place from it.
All in all, meh. Here's hoping next week's Richard-tastic episode will be better. But really, can't we all agree that the only character who matters is that mysterious boy?
