LiveBlog: Women's hoops take on Iowa

BY ZAK PYZIK

The Michigan women’s basketball team will hope to snap a three game losing streak and avoid a Big Ten collapse by defeating Iowa tonight at Crisler Arena. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. The Wolverines (1-3 Big Ten, 9-5 overall) are coming off a heartbreaking 59-56 loss to No. 6 Ohio State. The Buckeyes sit on top of the conference.

The Hawkeyes are led by three guards (Kachine Alexander, Kamille Wahlin, and Jaime Printy) all three are averaging double digits this season. Playing the post for Iowa will be Morgan Johnson, Johnson boasts a team high 105 rebounds. Meanwhile, Kelly Krei, one of the most consistent Hawkeyes will play forward. Krei is shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Michigan coach Kevin Borseth is trusting the same starting offense he has for most of the season. Dayeesha Hollins will be running point. Veronica Hicks and Jenny Ryan will start at guard. Along with Carmen Reynolds at forward and Krista Phillips at center. Phillips lines up for tip.

Check back, The Michigan Daily will be providing live updates throughout the night.
