CLEMSON, S.C. — After dropping both of its games at the Legends Classic in Atlantic City, N.J. last weekend, the Michigan basketball team hits the road to square off with Clemson tonight at 9 p.m. as part of the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

The Wolverines (3-2) will be an underdog against the Tigers on their home court. Clemson (5-1), despite seeing head coach Oliver Purnell leave after last season, appears to have a strong chance to make the NCAA Tournament. New coach Brad Brownell has the team humming, led by senior guard Demontez Smitt (13.7 ppg).

Michigan, meanwhile, does not have such lofty aspirations, especially coming off a two game losing streak. If recent history is any indication, though, the Wolverines could spring the upset. The last time the two squads squared off was in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament, a game Michigan won 62-59.
