Michigan baseball officials have reported that centerfielder Ryan Lamarre will be healthy to play once the Big Ten season starts.
“It is a clean break,” the University official said. “LaMarre will be back in time for Big Ten play.”
LaMarre had attempted to snag a shot from Texas Tech’s Scott LeJeune but injured his arm in the process.
The junior was a pre-season third-team all-American. The junior was named second-team all-conference in 2009. And he won the Bill Freehan Award as the team’s top hitter.
LaMarre is expected to be ready to play by April 2, when the Wolverines take field against Indiana in Ann Arbor. There was no information on what bone was specifically injured or if any surgery is required.
