Michigan redshirt junior running back Kevin Grady was arrested for driving while impaired in Wyoming early this morning, according to woodtv 8 in Grand Rapids.

The Grand Rapids native will be arraigned July 9, according to the TV station.

Wolverine running backs coach Fred Jackson said he and Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez were aware of the situation, but since they didn't know all of the details of the arrest, no decision has been made as to how to proceed.

I have been made aware of the incident involving Kevin by the Grady family," Rodriguez said through the athletic department. "Once we have an opportunity to meet with Kevin and review the details we will handle the matter internally."

Jackson said Grady has had no disciplinary problems in the past.

"No, none," Jackson said. "He's been clean free. No problems whatsoever."

Grady was a five-star recruit according to rivals.com. He had 121 carries for 483 yards and a team-best five rushing touchdowns his freshman year. He ran the ball 55 times 187 yards and three touchdowns his sophomore year. Grady was hurt for all of last season and redshirted.

He was expected to compete with juniors Brandon Minor and Carlos Brown and freshmen Sam McGuffie and Michael Shaw for carries this year.

"I'm sure he's with his family, and hopefully this'll all get handled petty soon," Jackson said.
