Gorging on music: Sasquatch 2010

BY MIA MARINO

This past Memorial Day weekend, Sasquatch! Music Festival took place at The Gorge Ampitheatre in Quincy, Washington.

Only the natural beauty of the venue (located within the Colombia River Gorge) rivaled the phenomenal lineup of the festival. Now in its ninth year, Sasquatch! drew headliners like Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Passion Pit, Band of Horses, Ween and LCD Soundsystem, plus an equally strong supporting lineup of indie, rap and electronic artists. The festival was not only a tribute to phenomenal music but also a congregation of characters from throughout the Pacific Northwest, the rest of the United States and even Canada. With hipsters, hippies and regular music aficionados in attendance, Sasquatch! 2010 represented an incredible meld of people from all different walks of life. Its diverse lineup — matching its diverse crowd — created an electricity that rocked three long days and nights.
