Forcier suffered concussion in Iowa game

BY ANDY REID

In his weekly Monday press conference, Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez said freshman quarterback Tate Forcier suffered a slight concussion after a hit on his last drive in the game.

Forcier sat for Michigan's final two drives, the last of which ended in freshman Denard Robinson throwing an interception.

"Tate got a little concussion, which I didn't know at the time," Rodriguez said. "On his last play, he got hit pretty good. So he wasn't -- you could tell he was not quite himself afterwards, and he'll be limited today. Those concussion things as you probably following the [Tim] Tebow situation are kind of day-to-day.

"I don't think it was a severe one, But he still has a headache today. I know everyone wants to talk to him after the game, but when you're a true freshman and you've got a pretty good headache and a tough ballgame, I hope you can realize you need a few days to decipher that. Some people don't let even upperclassmen quarterbacks talk sometimes, o don't get too upset when I make a decision not to let the true freshmen speak sometimes."

In an exclusive interview with The Daily, Forcier's brother Jason also talked about his concussion. Jason didn't get a chance to talk to Forcier after Saturday's game, because the field's lights were hurting Forcier's eyes too much after the concussion.
