Dan Feldman:
More like this
Penn State quarterback Daryll Clark will have his worst game of the season to date. By now, Michigan has to have figured out how to defend the spread better, right? With sophomore Donovan Warren healthy and freshman Boubacar Cissoko showing real promise, the Wolverines should feel confident putting three cornerbacks on the field more often. That change should give the defense a better shot at stopping Penn State's high-powered "Spread HD" attack.
There will be at least six total turnovers. Michigan obviously has some fumbling issues (3.3 per game), but so do the Nittany Lions (2.7 per game). The strong possibility of loose balls makes this game a bit more of a tossup than the rankings suggest.
Penn State will win 31-20. Fumbles are an issue for both teams, but the Nittany Lions have thrown more than an interception fewer per game than the Wolverines. Penn State is more likely to win the turnover battle, so the Nittany Lions are more likely to win the game. Plus, they're really talented and have outscored their opponents by an average of 45-11.
Courtney Ratkowiak:
Nick Sheridan will play at least half of the game. Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said Wednesday that if Threet isn't 100 percent, he won't start. He has been limited in practice all week, and even though Sheridan has been less than impressive in his last two games, Threet will likely be rusty after the time off the field. Rodriguez has shown he isn't afraid to play Sheridan when Threet is looking shaky, and he'll prove it again Saturday.
The Wolverines won't score in the first half. Penn State's intimidating homefield advantage, matched with the sheer talent of the Nittany Lions, will be enough to take the Wolverines out of the game early on. It will look a lot like Michigan's first road game against Notre Dame, when the Wolverines didn't wake up until the second quarter. With the exception of last week, Michigan has been a second-half team. Expect the Wolverines to return to that pattern Saturday.
Penn State will win 41-14. Penn State cakewalked past Wisconsin and Illinois. This won't be too different. The Nittany Lions will end their losing streak against the Wolverines in convincing fashion.
Ian Robinson:
Michigan will punt the ball more than eight times. The Nittany Lions lead the conference in total defense, third-down defense and sacks. With Michigan's inept offense, it should be a busy day for the Wolverines' punt unit. Fortunately, that group — led by redshirt junior Zoltan Mesko — is second in the country in net punting.
Penn State will at least double Michigan's total yardage. Penn State leads the Big Ten in offense. Michigan is last. Penn State leads the conference in total defense. Michigan is in the middle of the pack. Translation: Bad news for the Michigan offense.
Penn State will win 31-10. The Wolverines are coming off two embarrassing home losses. Now, they travel to Beaver Stadium, the nation's largest and perhaps toughest home venue. Starting quarterback Steven Threet is coming off an elbow injury, and there's a good chance he won't be 100 percent Saturday. Last time backup quarterback Nick Sheridan played on the road, he threw two interceptions in one quarter. Saturday won't be a pretty sight for Michigan fans.

Michigan will fall behind by three touchdowns in the first half. There are two key factors here: First, Penn State's offense is versatile and effective. Second, the crowd in Happy Valley is going to have an impact. Michigan's defense has struggled against the spread, and the Wolverines didn't fare well in their only other road game of this season.
Justin Feagin won't see the field on Saturday. There have been a lot of rumors flying around that Feagin, a true freshman, will be in the game at slot receiver, and maybe even quarterback. Rodriguez said the coaches considered putting him in against Toledo. But don't get your hopes up, Feagin wouldn't have enough of an impact to change this game, and there's no point burning his redshirt now.
Penn State will win 34-13. If Michigan's winning streak against the Nittany Lions has to come to an end, why not in a blaze of glory? Penn State will dominate the game from start to finish.
