From the Daily: Don't reply to all

Chances are you received several e-mails yesterday offering a selection of wonderful sublets around campus — and the inevitable followup e-mails from fellow recipients begging to be taken off of the list.

Yes, Information Technology Central Services should look at ways to prevent improper “mailstorms.” Yes, ITCS could do a better job teaching users about its e-mail use policies, though the e-mail ITCS sent out last night is a good start.

But, most importantly, e-mail users need to know the difference between “reply” and “reply to all” if they wish to dignify a University spam e-mail with a response.

If you don’t know which “reply” to use, ask someone. Please.
