After the discerning loss last night in Fetter’s final home start, Eric Katzman takes to the mound today against the Golden Gophers’ ace Tom Buske. Buske has had comparable numbers to Fetter all season, but he doesn’t strike out many with blazing stuff. He’s one of the most efficient pitchers in the Big Ten, and that could spell trouble for the Wolverines. Good news is Michigan managed double-digit hits last night, they just couldn’t turn them into runs. Turning those hits into runs is the key today. If they can do that, especially with Nick Urban back in the lineup, Michigan could pull off a win. At the beginning of the weekend though, I had this game pegged as the Wolverines most difficult to win, and that’s definitely still true. Katzman needs to keep this game under control.
