Assistant Ann Arbor city attorney who prosecutes drunk drivers pulled over under suspicion of drunk driving

BY JENNA SKOLLER

A Washtenaw County sheriff's deputy stopped an Ann Arbor senior assistant city attorney who prosecutes drunk drivers under the suspicion of drunk driving at about 8 p.m. Sunday, an annarbor.com article reported.

Bob West — who works in sobriety court in the 15th District Court — was stopped on Jackson Avenue in Scio Township, according to the annarbor.com article. The Sheriff's Department didn't release any further details on the matter.

In response to questions about the incident, West told annarbor.com that he hasn't seen the report and no charges have been authorized.

"It's most unfortunate," he told annarbor.com. "I regret that it happened, but I think it was a private matter."
