More like this
1. Alabama (10): Thursday night, Crimson Tide linebacker Rolando McClain got in a fight at the student union. Saturday night, he had 11 tackles and two sacks against Mississippi State. But, hey, ‘Bama is No. 1. Can’t argue with results, right, Nick?
1. Texas tech (8): Texas Tech must be feeling Rocky Mountain High being undefeated this late in the season. They should be proud as a Country Boy working on a farm, having him a fiddle with cakes on the griddle. By the way, John Denver went there.
3. Florida (2): South Carolina and former Gator coach Steve Spurrier is known to run the score up on opponents. Florida coach Urban Meyer gave him a taste of his own medicine, handing him the worst loss of his coaching career Saturday.
4. Texas: Did you know the Longhorns’ staring running back’s name is Fozzy Whittaker? As a freshman, he has been the Longhorns’ leading running back in the last two games. Wakka, wakka!
5. Oklahoma: Texas Tech knocked the Sooners out of the national title race late last season. Oklahoma will have the chance to return the favor this weekend. How many great games can the Big 12 have this year? Don’t answer. It’s rhetorical.
6. Southern Cal: The Trojans came from behind to rock Stanford’s world. The Trojans were stretched but didn’t break. Get your mind out of the gutter.
7. Penn State: With a win over two-touchdown underdog Michigan State at home, the Nittany Lions will earn a Big Ten Title and a likely trip to their first Rose Bowl since 1995. But they shouldn’t get too excited. Just remember, pride comes before the fall.
8. Utah: The Utah-Brigham Young game might be the most competitive rivalry game this weekend, and you probably won’t even be able to watch it. It’s on the mtn., the Rocky Mountain equivalent of the BTN.
9. Boise State: Troy McClain, a cast member on the first season of “The Apprentice,” was offered a full ride to any college by Donald Trump. He chose Boise State. Will the BCS show the Broncos such favor?
10. Ball State (1): Cardinal coach Brady Hoke, a former Lloyd Carr assistant, is leading an undefeated team and has a chance to make a BCS game. So, that’s the formula for winning? Wonder what Mike DeBord is up to.
Also Receiving Votes: Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Oregon State, Northwestern, Slippery Rock
