The Michigan Daily High School Journalism Conference is a one-day event hosted by the staff of the University of Michigan’s student-run newspaper The Michigan Daily.

Students will spend time in The Michigan Daily newsroom, hear from sports journalists from the Detroit Free Press and attend hands-on workshops and sessions.

Students will also have the opportunity to talk with Daily staffers about their experiences and learn from their peers at other high schools.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

The workshops are designed for high school juniors and seniors who are thinking of joining a college publication and for student journalists interested in learning everything from how a daily newspaper runs to basic design skills.

While the conference is geared toward students with journalism experience, anyone with an interest in journalism is welcome to attend.
