Mark Snyder is another beat writer who does a great job. These are people who are schooled in journalism. When I wake up in the morning, grab my coffee, and turn on my computer, I want to see what a legitimate writer--who has sources, has checked and cross-checked information and done due diligence--has to say. I don't want to read the opinions of some guy on mommie's couch when it comes to breaking news or analysis as it pertains to player or coach's impressions...because the blogger hasn't been there to interview the players or coaches. Because odds are the blogger doesn't have key sources. Etc etc etc.

I go to mgoblog to get silly pictures from time to time, but I care more about what my postman thinks about the state of UM football than this Cook guy. Honestly. He has no pedigree. Zero. He gets 50,000 PAGE views by the same 2500 students and a few stragglers. That's it. I won't go so far as to say he has zero credibility, but really, you can't even try to compare a blogger like Cook to a legit writer who earns a real paycheck.

And by the way, young Mr. Reid, when you get to a real newspaper--even if that newspaper is strictly online and no longer print--they won't let you use the "F" word. Old fogies like me consider that uncouth.
