Regent hopeful LaFond, a former Ford executive, aims to build 'U' business ties

Plymouth resident John LaFond, running for a seat on the University of Michigan Board of Regents, said he would draw on his business background to help tackle the problem."The University seems to be suffering right now from a lack of bold and decisive leadership," the Republican hopeful said. "Spending seems to be out of control and something needs to be done."
