This is a pretty interesting story, Trevor. I was pleased you represented a skeptical viewpoint - but you could have been bolder. There is nothing wrong making politicians look ridiculous. Indeed, some would argue it is the duty of the journalist. Maybe not everyone would agree with me that the headline for this story should have been: Chop down the trees to save the planet.

I do think Michigan's economy is a key question for The Daily and I am one reader who would like that you should get out there and suck the lollipops. I would especially like to know what is being done in Michigan to develop vehicles of the future. The University and many others in and around Ann Arbor must be doing this,. Plus there are cultural angles to the new ecology. What are students driving? Do you have electric cars in A2? Tell me more!!!

Finally - please interview the Michigan people the governor cited who are on the Intergovernment Panel on Climate Change, which as you know is way controversial. I would like to know who these guys are, what they say, how they forecast the future. I didn't say take them too seriously - only that if you want to follow the environment story, let the readers meet them. Ask them what they think of the governor's comments. This is a logical way forward.

Salut!
