Lincoln Logs: Choosing your happiness

BY HARSHA NAHATA

We don’t have to be happy all the time, or not happy at all. Happiness can be on a spectrum. We don’t have to pick between being happy or not being happy — in fact, that’s not even a choice that we can really make.

Campus Corner: Addicted to Adderall

BY KAT CARTWRIGHT

Though I understand that some students need A.D.H.D medication to function on a daily basis, it’s obvious that students are abusing these drugs. Weil Can Do It: A Valentine for everyone

BY ELLERY WEIL

But the thing is for me, when I think of Valentine’s Day, I really think of a shoebox — a pink, tissue paper-covered shoebox with a hole cut in the lid. Elementary school Valentine’s Day was the best.

Study A Blog, Madrid Edition: Do You Speak English?

BY ALEXIS BIAGGI

The U.S. is quite behind on the multilingual trend. I’m not proposing that every individual ought to be fluent in 15 languages. However, knowing the basics of a few languages will help to remove our image as people who believe their culture is superior to others.

The Feminine Critique: Sen. Warren and House Bill 5711

BY EMMA MANIERE

The stereotype of women who get abortions only fuels legislatures' ability to pass bills to block a women's choice. Sen. Warren calls for an open dialog to clarify why we need to lift restrictions on abortion clinics.

Bleeding Blue: Ballot politics

BY JOE PAONE

One man, one vote, the essence of American democracy. Of course, achieving this ideal has taken hundreds of years, multiple Constitutional amendments and some of the most influential activists in our nation's history. But it’s still facing constant threat. The faith we have that our right to vote will steadfastly be protected allows those who seek power to take it from under our noses.

Seeing Red: Chronic unemployment is the new norm

BY MICHAEL SWAIN

A lot has changed since the last November’s election. The news cycles are quieter, and the negative ads that once barraged our televisions are gone. Those are things that we can be thankful for, but in the three months that have passed, something about we, the people, has changed. We’re no longer talking about the economy.
