Ford, Kramer, Oosterbaan to be Football Legends

Just nine months after Desmond Howard was recognized as a legend during the 2011 season, three more former Wolverine all-time greats will join Howard for the honorable distinction.

Brosnahan signs with Blue Jays

Former Michigan baseball player Bobby Brosnahan recently signed a free-agent deal with the Toronto Blue Jays. The left-hander reported to the club’s draft mini camp in Dunedin, Fla. shortly after the conclusion of the Wolverines’ season.

In his final year at Michigan, as a redshirt junior, Brosnahan recorded a 3.43 ERA in 10 outings, walking just nine batters.

Report: North Carolina guard to transfer to Michigan

It seems as if the Michigan women’s basketball team is adding another to the roster.

According to her Twitter account, North Carolina point guard Shannon Smith is transferring to the Wolverines’ program.

Michigan's Chidester, Madwed earn Big Ten's Medal of Honor

On Thursday, two Michigan athletes were awarded one of the most prestigious conference awards.

Softball senior Amanda Chidester and men's swimming and diving senior Dan Madwed were honored with the Big Ten's Medal of Honor as one of 24 conference athletes that “attained the greatest proficiency in athletics and scholastic work.”

Michigan-Alabama opener slated for primetime, The Game at noon

The Michigan football team announced the start times of its season opener and season finale on Tuesday. As expected, the Wolverines will be feature in a primetime 8 p.m. kickoff for the Sept. 1 Cowboys Classic contest against Alabama, while the Nov. 24 match-up with Ohio State in Columbus will be a noon kickoff.

Women's swimming coach Jim Richardson announces retirement

After 27 years with the women’s swimming program, Michigan coach Jim Richardson announced his retirement yesterday.

“We are grateful for the passion, enthusiasm and dedication that Jim has provided,” Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon said. “Jim worked hard to mold our young women into some of the finest swimmers in the conference and in the nation.”
