Officials cancel plans for Fuller Road station

The City of Ann Arbor and the University announced in a press release today that construction of the Fuller Road Intermodal station “as presently designed” will not continue due to complications with federal funding.

Coleman critical of investigation as University releases internal report on child porn incident

The results of an internal investigation examining why the University of Michigan Health System waited 6 months to appropriately alert the Department of Public Safety that former medical resident Stephen Jenson was in possession of child pornography were released to the public today.

Ann Arbor sustainability forum discusses land use, transportation

In an effort to improve local sustainability, Ann Arbor business owners, a University professor and city officials held a forum last night to discuss the city’s land use and transportation.
The event was the second installment in a series of four monthly meetings focusing on energy, environment, housing, human resources, planning and park advisory.

Emergency officials respond to gas leak at E. Liberty and S. Division

At approximately 4:30 p.m. today, detectable levels of natural gas were found in the Google Building on South Division Street, according to a DTE Energy spokesman. By 5 p.m., emergency DTE crews and the units from the Ann Arbor Fire Department were reportedly on scene.

AAFD dispatched to HazMat situation at Packard and East Stadium

Several local agencies responded to a Haz-Mat incident this evening at the Circle K gas station at Packard Street and E. Stadium Boulevard this evening.
Acting AAFD Battalion Chief Amy Brow said the Ann Arbor Police Department and Circle K employees called AAFD to the gas station alleging they had received money contaminated with an unknown substance.

Snyder recommends 3.1 percent increase in higher education funding

Republican Gov. Rick Snyder announced his recommendations for Michigan’s 2013 budget today in Lansing, which include a 3.1-percent hike in funding for public universities.
