Informal A2 Restaurant Review: Kosmo Deli in Kerrytown

BY ERIN GREEN

Part of Kosmo's menu. Picture courtesy www.detroitdrinks.com.

Kosmo is a great little place in the Kerrytown markets. It's got a lot of character and weird twists on Korean food. Their bi bim bop is yummy, their eggrolls are delicious, their twigim (kinda like tempura veggies) are great, and their special homemade sauce is great too. They have a "Bulgogi hoagie" that's just delicious. Their staff is really relaxed and seem like they enjoy working there.

Easy Pumpkin Cupcakes

BY ERIN GREEN

Ok, so I know that the brownie recipe that we posted previously was too complicated for those of you not experienced in the kitchen. If you're ambitious though, try it out--they really are amazing. For those of us with less time and experience, I've got a recipe for you using a fall favorite, pumpkin!

Calling all foodies (and writers)

BY ERIN GREEN

Hey everyone,

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. Shanda has gotten too busy for the blog, and I've been pretty swamped lately as well. I'm looking for another writer or two; if you're interested in food at the U, e-mail me at ertgreen@gmail.com.

Yelp

BY ERIN GREEN

I've been asked for more depth to my favorite restaurant choices, e.g. why I picked them over others. While it would take days and days here to elaborate on why my favorite restaurants are my favorites, I do have a Yelp account with reviews of all my favorites. Here it is: ypsiarborgirl.yelp.com if you're interested.

Favorite Ann Arbor Restaurants--My own "Best of"

BY ERIN GREEN

Dish from my fave. place: Thai Thai. Photo credit Sarah W. from Thai Thai's Yelp page

When I saw that No Thai had won "Best Thai Food" in The Daily's "Best of" section, I felt sad, oh so sad. Friends, No Thai is not Thai food.

Black Forest Brownies (Best Ever)

BY SHANDA SHOOTER

I wanted to wait until I could make these and wow you with a picture myself, but there's urgent demands for the recipe and I must oblige. I kind of adapted this from a Paula Deen mint brownie recipe, it explains the massive amounts of butter.

Chili Cookoff! Easy Recipe

BY ERIN GREEN

Chili goodness, bubbling away

It's tailgating season, and chili is one of the best football foods out there. It's easy to make, very customizable to individual tastes, and can be done on the cheap. Bonus: everything goes in one pot, so it's easy to clean up! Here's a recipe for a basic, but still delicious, chili.

Farmer's Market Fun

BY ERIN GREEN

Apples and plums and pears, oh my!

From time to time, we'll be featuring a local market or store in our blog, and the merits and demerits of each. Today we're featuring the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market, located in the Kerrytown area of Ann Arbor. Lots of students never make it to Kerrytown while they're here, and it's a darn shame because it houses all kinds of culinary wonders.
