The Boys Who Cook
BY JORDAN KRISTOPIK
I’m not going to try to pretend that cooking isn’t heavily female-based. Preparing dinner for others, planning parties, and being the eternal host…hey, it’s our 1950’s family instincts, right?

Caught Red-Handed
BY JORDAN KRISTOPIK
I do not understand red velvet cake. Why on earth would you want your cake red? It’s not like it’s a specific flavor: “Mmmm, this cake tastes so good and red to me!” Do you know what red velvet cake is? It’s regular yellow cake with a few spoonfuls of cocoa powder and red food dye. Boring, yes?

Paczki Pictures
BY JORDAN KRISTOPIK
Now that I've nearly survived Fat Tuesday, I thought I would post my pictures of my paczki. I got strawberry, plum, and rose from Copernicus Deli, and one custard one from Grosse Ile Bakery, thanks to a friend who drove there today. I can't decide which is my favorite...

Don't Hold Back on Fat Tuesday (Like a Good Catholic)
BY JORDAN KRISTOPIK
The Polish Catholic is coming out in me again. No, I haven’t found a sudden interest in church as my family keeps expecting, nor have I started praying to all the saints. It is, of course, solely food related. Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday. And while many days of the week for me are “fat” based, I really plan on going all out tomorrow.

Microwave Monday: Mug Eggs
BY ERIN GREEN
If you want a hot breakfast but are rushing to class and have no time, consider Mug Eggs.
What, you ask, are Mug Eggs?
They are scrambled eggs, made in a coffee mug. They take less than two minutes to make and produce delicious fluffy scrambled eggs without dirtying a pan and waiting to cook them. Here's what you do:

Super Easy (and Healthy!) Spinach Pie
BY JORDAN KRISTOPIK
I love spinach pie. Flaky Phyllo dough, lots of feta, and a touch of lemon. All baked to perfection. Spinach pie, however, is not something I can make quickly and easily for dinner. It’s also not the healthiest option for a meal—the nutrients of the spinach are drowned in cheese, dough, and eggs. But thankfully, I have discovered a wonderful solution to this problem: the spinach casserole.

The Best Brownie Ever
BY JORDAN KRISTOPIK
Fact #1: Homemade brownies are just as easy to make as box brownies.
Fact #2: Homemade brownies taste a million times better than box brownies.

It's Girl Scout Cookie Time!
BY ERIN GREEN
It's Girl Scout cookie time, basically my favorite time of year. Boxes are so cheap, the cookies remind me of childhood, and of course you're supporting a great cause. My favorites are Samoas, the carmely coconuty chocolatey hexagons, and Thin Mints, dark-chocolate coated minty wafers. Mmmmm.

A Tale of Two Cupcakes
BY JORDAN KRISTOPIK
For my birthday, I got a cookbook. But not just any cookbook--a cupcake cookbook. A cupcake bible, if you will. I'm still floored that I haven't yet blogged about cupcakes, my favorite dessert. Hell, my favorite food. I've made dozens of cupcakes, and in the past week I've made two recipes from the book.
