Michigan hockey senior defenseman Chris Summers signed an entry-level NHL contract with the Phoenix Coyotes today. According to general manager Don Maloney, Summers will head to Phoenix's American Hockey League affiliate in San Antonio.
This comes a day after Wolverine senior defenseman Steve Kampfer signed an entry-level NHL contract with the Boston Bruins.

According to Michigan hockey coach Red Berenson, senior defenseman Steve Kampfer has departed for Providence, Rhode Island to eventually sign an entry-level NHL contract with the Boston Bruins. Berenson announced the news at his weekly radio show at the Arena Sports Bar and Grill in Ann Arbor.

The Michigan baseball team, riding a six-game winning streak, will host Washtenaw County rival Eastern Michigan today at 3:05.
The Eagles come in with a 10-14 record. The Wolverines (12-9) will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last season, when EMU came into Ray Fisher Stadium and defeated the host team in a 3-1 upset.

Former Wolverine great Barry Larkin will have his number 16 retired by the program, Michigan coach Rich Maloney announced tonight on the WTKA Michigan Athletics Coaches’ Show.
The ceremony for the Cincinnati, Oh. native will take place before the May 1 game against Ohio State.

The No. 2 Michigan softball team (1-0 Big Ten, 24-5 overall) is looking to sweep in its Big Ten opening weekend at Alumni Field in Ann Arbor. The game was originally scheduled for 2:00pm, but rain will delay the start at least half an hour.

The Michigan women's basketball team will take on Syracuse in the quarterfinal round of the WNIT at 2:00 p.m. today at Crisler Arena.
The Orange is 16-0 in out-of-conference play and they come into Ann Arbor having beaten Virginia Commonwealth most recently 74-69.
