Wolverines earn highest preseason ranking in program history

The Wolverines are No. 7 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association preseason poll, after finishing fifth in the final rankings from 2012. Michigan's highest preseason ranking prior to this year came in 2010, when it began the season ranked 12th.

Women’s basketball Europe trip schedule announced

The ten-day long trip will begin on the 19th when the Wolverines depart Ann Arbor, heading through the night to Paris — the location of their first game, which will take place on Aug. 23. Two more games in Europe will follow for Michigan, as it stops in Lake Como on the 24th and Rome on the 27th to complete its ménage a trois.

Beilein receives contract extension through 2018-19 season

After leading the Michigan men’s basketball team to the national championship game for the first time since 1993, University Athletic Director Dave Brandon announced on Wednesday a contract extension for coach John Beilein through the 2018-2019 season.

Michigan falls short of Directors’ Cup

The University of Michigan finished in third place in the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup, is given annually to the schools with the most successful athletics in 10 men’s sports and 10 women’s sports.
