Daily columnist and cartoonist applications

The Michigan Daily opinion page is looking for a diverse group of columnists to write every other week for the winter semester.
We are also looking for creative, unique, artistic cartoonists to draw a cartoon once a week.

Power outages cause delay in Daily printing

Power outages in Grand Blanc — where our printer is — have delayed the printing of Wednesday's edition of the Daily. The paper should hopefully be printed first thing in the morning and on the racks by about lunch time.

Due to a complication at our printer, the Daily is delayed in getting to campus today. It should be on the racks around campus by the early afternoon.

Editor's Note: The Commencement Issue

The Michigan Daily is publishing a special Commencement Issue on Saturday, May 1, to commemorate President Barack Obama's address before the University of Michigan's Class of 2010. The issue will be distributed at Michigan Stadium as attendees pass through security. Below is the accompanying editor's note with the special issue.

We’re premiering a new graphic in the top right story of today’s paper designed by Daily Managing Design Editor Sarah Squire, featuring a drawing of the Fleming Administration building that we plan to attach to every story written by Daily News Editor Kyle Swanson.

Paper deliveries to campus delayed due to printing problems
