Report: As expected, Merrill leaves school, signs with Devils' organization

After three seasons with the Michigan hockey team, including two shortened ones, defenseman Jon Merrill has left the University and signed an amateur tryout contract with the Albany Devils of the American Hockey League, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie on Twitter. The Michigan hockey team later reported the news on Twitter.

Block 'M' Blog: Turf to be installed in 2014

Starting in the fall of 2014, visitors to Ray Fisher Stadium, home of the Michigan baseball team, will no longer be able smell the fresh cut grass or hear the crunch of the dirt underneath player’s spikes.
This is because Michigan will replace its current natural field at the Wilpon Complex with an all-turf surface.

Michigan’s defensive coordinator, who recently signed a three-year contract extension that lasts through 2016, will earn a base salary of $835,000 in 2014, an increase from the base of $750,000 in his previous three-year deal.

Report: Big Ten divisional realignment puts Michigan in east with Ohio State and Michigan State

Adam Rittenberg reported Tuesday that the Big Ten plans to realign its divisions according to geography, with Michigan joining rivals including Ohio State and Michigan State in the east. The changes will take effect in 2014.
