Maize towels good for football and hospitals

Last Saturday at the Big House, a large crowd of Michigan students and fans were waving yellow towels to help spur the Wolverines to their 31-7 victory over Western Michigan.

Season Opener Live Blog: Michigan vs. Western Michigan

Welcome to The Michigan Daily's live blog of Michigan's season opener against Western Michigan.

Kickoff is about 20 minutes away and we already have a first-ever in Michigan Stadium history. ACDC's "Hell's Bells" was just blasted over the stadium loudspeakers as the team performed its pregame ritual and gathered around its game captains. Take that for what you will.

Former Michigan basketball captain launches apparel line

Former captain of the Michigan Basketball team David Merritt has moved on from his basketball career. He is taking on a new challenge and that involves being the founder and CEO of his own company.

Merritt launched his apparel line for his company IMU (I Miss You) Saturday night at the Michigan League in front of a crowd that included several of his former teammates and coaches.
