Witnesses say man brandished gun Sunday morning, AAPD reports


An assault occurred at around 2 a.m. Sunday morning on South State Street near North University Avenue, according to a crime alert issued by University police Sunday afternoon.

The alert stated a group of pedestrians reported to Ann Arbor Police a man in a silver Toyota 4-Runner, unknown to them, brandished a handgun at the group as he drove away. No injuries or shots fired were reported.

The man was described by witnesses as being a white male in his twenties, 6’0” and 130 pounds, wearing a white button-up t-shirt, dark-colored vest and blue jeans and holding a skateboard.

The incident is currently under investigation by the AAPD.
